Campaign 4
Previous Aircraft: Mad Maggie lost on Sassnitz mission;
Mission 10 - Uneventful first run. Shame to hear about the crew of the Margaret (our predecessors). Caught some flak over the target and on the way home but nothing to get in a twist about. Didn't see hide not hair of enemy fighters.
Mission 11 - Observers report the "Wild Wingnut" made a successful bombing run but drew the attention of a JU-88 G-7 after the bomb run. The night fighter caused damage to the WIngnut, we assume to its o2 supply as the pilot dropped to low altitude. Quickly illuminated by searchlights, the Lancaster drew heavy flak. A shell burst inside the bomber's tail sending the aircraft into an uncontrolled dive. No chutes reported
