Mission 18 - Long mission, many attacking E/A, two crewmen wounded, K for Karen II pretty shot up, but repairable. Hit target with est. 40%. Shot down two attacking E/A (both by Sgt. Bridgeman with only one functional Mid-Upper 303 mg. ! )
Mission 19 - Hit by flak several times. Damages from enemy nightfighters rendered heat and oxygen outages in several compartments. Came in over target at low altitude. PO Rudinski severely wounded by enemy gunfire after turn for home. Sgt. Landscaster (Nav) took over flying controls. Problem with fuel supply - Sgt. Hansen sucessfully managed fuel transfer and KAREN 2 had just enough fuel to return to base. Sgt. Hansen also assisted in flying KAREN 2 In summary: attacked by three enemy nightfighters, hit by flak as we began bomb run, bombs on target est. 30%.
Mission 20 - K-Karen II was flying at low altitude when another bomber dived out of clouds and collided with K-Karen. No member of the crew was able to exit K-Karen II.
