1943 Mission AAR - Previous plane Baker's Dozen lost on Hamburg mission. Minced Pie lost on Peenemunde mission. Hornet's Sting lost on Metz Mission. G-George lost during St. Valery mission.
Mission 3 - Heating system malfunction inbound to target over the Channel. Aborted Mission.
Mission 4 - Milk Run. Target completely obscured
Mission 5 - Outbound buzzed by pesky Night fighters whilst approaching Target. Flak was present and caused superficial structural damage. Inbound again attacked over the Chanel without any success.
Mission 6 - Outbound - Approaching French Coast SGT Lynch rumbled a ME110 trying to sneak up from below. On second Pass the fighter was shot down but SGT Lynch suffered a bullet wound to his lower leg. On Bombing run Flak Bait lived up to its name and was braced by exploding flak which took out the bomb bay doors resulting in Flak Bait being forced to abort with its bomb load still on board. Inbound - East of Rouen bounced by HE219 A-0. SGT Neal managed to shoot it down after the third pass. Flak Bait took more superficial damage. Landing back at base was hairy due to ordinance still on board but turned out uneventful. Flak Bait will be available for next mission.
Mission 7 - Outbound. Encountered Ju 88 C-6 whilst over the French Coast suffered airframe damage.Inbound. Over bombing run He 219 A-0 takes out 1 inner Port Engine and 1 outer Starboard Engine. Completed Bombing Run and shot down the He 219 A-0. Flak caused additional damage to both the Wing Root and Landing Gear - Brakes out. Landing good. WOFF Engineer (Ground) reports that there will be at least 2 days for Flak Bait can return to Operational Duties.

Mission 11 - Touched up outbound Zone 4 by Me-110. Took out inner starboard and out port engines. Decided to scrub mission, released bombs and high tailed it home.
Mission 12 - Outbound - clear run in. inbound - Attacked by 4 Enemy aircraft - shot down 2
Mission 13 - Quiet stroll in. Stirred up a Hornets Nest on the way out
Mission 14 - No comments sent
Mission 15 - Encountered Heavy Flak over target. Bomb Bay was hit and Bombay Doors became Inoperable. Landing was successful without detonating Bombs. ME-110 F-4 shot up Bomb aimers position wounding FLGOFF F.G. Jackson. Patched up and will be ready to fly next mission.
Mission 16 - After the last couple of missions....Cake walk apart from Flak over the Target
Mission 17 - Outbound - quiet run to target
Over Target - Encountered He 219. SGT Lynch took a superficial leg wound from shrapnel but managed to shoot the blighter down. Inbound - evaded 2 attempts by enemy aircraft before landing.
Mission 18 - Z3- Encountered a JU88 G-7... Well it encountered Flak Bait. No notice until the underbelly was riddled and the bomb bay doors were made inoperative ( Schrage Musik)....Evaded the Blighter and aborted the mission...Hairy Landing indeed but survived to fight another day
Mission 19 - Inbound: Z7 - Oil Leak - Mechanical failure - Fire in Engine 3 put out; Z8 - Drove off He-219 A-0; Z9 Flak - Nose Mk XIV Bombsight Damaged. FLGOFF F.G. Jackson sustained superficial facial damage. Inbound: Z4 - Attacked by Me 110 G-4. SGT T.J. Lynch manages to shoot down the fighter; Z2 - Oil Leak - Mechanical failure - Fire in Engine 1 put out.; Landing was "hairy" with 2 engines out but successful.
