Campaign 4
Mission 8 - Enroute to target, S-Sally was passing Nijmegen, The Netherlands when attacked by a Do-217 N-2. The night fighter, after making its first attack pass, collided with S-Sally's right wing. Both aircraft began uncontrolled descents. Of the seven crew members of the stricken Lancaster, only Flight Engineer Sgt. Nelson Brennan was able to exit the aircraft. He was subsequently captured by the Wehrmacht, and interned.
